WB reiterates support for Afghan govt’s programs to reduce negative impact of COVID-19

KABUL: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke with the World Bank country director for Afghanistan, Henry Kerali, and his accompanying delegation via a video conference on Thursday evening, a presidential statement said yesterday.
The video conference discussed the World Bank’s funding and support for the Afghan government’s plans, especially in the fight against the corona virus, reducing the negative economic impact of the corona virus, distributing aid packages to needy families and other comprehensive national programs, the statement added.
“The World Bank supports the entire Afghan government’s national program to reduce the negative effects of the coronavirus on affected families,” said Henry Kerali, World Bank country director for Afghanistan, according to the statement.
