KABUL: Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh met with Northern provinces displaced council members the other day, during which the participants shared their demands in different fields, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.
Pointing at displaced people problems in Northern provinces, the participants stressed that the government should pay serious heed to their basic needs, according to the agency.
They said that the government’s financial supports would get embezzled before reaching to displaced people, adding local administrations’ in-charges are involved in this regard.
VP Danesh said that the government of Afghanistan particularly the relevant administrations were obliged to address displaced people problems on time. He stressed that the displaced people council can play effective role in recognition of problems and other basic challenges of the displaced people.
Likewise, he said that war and natural disasters have caused over five million people to seek refuge in foreign countries and thousands of others to be internally displaced.
To address such challenges, the government has established the ministry of refugees and repatriates, the state ministry to address natural incidents and many other relevant administrations through which serious cooperation will be done with refugees and displaced people.
During the meeting, VP Danesh vowed the participants that their problems will be chased through the relevant organs.
