By: The Kabul Times
KABUL: Pakistan has announced keeping the Cross points  open at Torkham and Chaman round the clock for six days a week.
As part of precautionary measures to contain the coronavirus spread, Pakistan closed the crossings on March 27.
But in response to demands from traders and a special request from the Afghan government, the cross points was reopened last month for three days a week.
The Ministry of Interior said on Friday the decision on opening the points six days a week was taken at a meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre.
A notification from the ministry said both crossing points would stay open 24/7 for six days except on Saturdays — reserved for pedestrian movements only.
An unlimited number of trucks will be allowed to cross into Afghanistan during the six days when the crossings will be open. Guidelines for bilateral and Afghan transit trade will be complied with.
