KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani participated at a grand ceremony at the Ministry of Defense on Thursday morning to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and congratulated the auspicious day to the Islamic World, including the Muslim people of Afghanistan, a statement from the presidential press office said.
President Ghani termed the day historic, where two powerful strata of the country namely the Afghan Defense and Security forces as the guardians and esteemed Ulema as the guides of the country celebrate such a blessing day together, the statement quoted.
The president as quoted in the statement, said: “Afghanistan Defense and Security forces are guardians of the Afghanistan Constitution, which is the world’s most Islamic constitution.”
The president added: “As an Islamic country, governed by an Islamic government, we are honored that the construction process of over one thousand mosques across the country is being completed,” added the president.
President Ghani said what can be done through peace, cannot be done through war, calling the ongoing bloodshed in the country illegitimate.
President Ghani referred to the unity between Hanafi and Jafari jurisprudences in the country and said at the time that the Islamic civilization was second to none, others were plunged in darkness, underlining that there is no link between the holy religion of Islam and terrorism.
