Taliban militants kidnap a member of Provincial Council from Samangan-Baghlan Highway

The Taliban militants have kidnapped a member of the Provincial Council from Samangan-Baghlan Highway.
Abdullah Mohammadi, a member of the Lower House of the Parliament confirmed that the Taliban militants kidnapped Syed Abdul Halim Sadat, a member of the Provincial Council of Samangan.
Mohammadi further added that the Taliban militants also abducted three tribal elders together with Mr. Sadat.
Furthermore, Mr. Mohammadi said the incident took place at around 10:00 am local time in Chashma-e-Sher area.
He also added that efforts are underway to release the abducted Provincial Council member but there are no reports regarding the fate of the hostages.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohammadi said the Taliban militants may have taken the hostages to Dahana-e-Ghori or Baghlan-e-Markazi where they have strongholds.
