KABUL: Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Tahir Zuhair on the occasion of International Women’s Day extended his condolence and sympathy via webinar over martyrdom of four female journalists working for Enikas Radio and Television in Nangarhar.
In the video conference, acting minister of information and culture considered recent terrorist attacks on female journalists as shocking, asserting that the enemies of Afghanistan people wanted to target and attack media despite that the peace efforts were ongoing.
Mohammad Tahir Zuhair told the leading body of the Enikas Radio and Television that the MoIC would fully support and stay beside them as it was the responsibility of the ministry of information and culture to support the country’s cultural and media society.
Afterwards, director and founder of Enikas Radio and Television Eng. Zalmay Latifi thanked the ministry of information and culture for its support and extension of condolence, saying that their efforts would continue towards maintaining peace, stability and development of the country despite of facing with security threats.
He asked the ministry of information and culture to pay particular attention to security and safety of the channel’s employees through security organs so that all employees of the media organization could safely continue their activities. At the end of the video conference, acting minister of information and culture tasked the ministry’s media advisor and spokesperson to make effort with security organs towards maintaining security of the employees of the Enikas Radio and Television.
