Strengthening institutions, root out corruption govt’s top goals: Dr. Abdullah

KABUL: Chaired by Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, 7th meeting of executive committee for prevention of corruption and expansion of systems was held yesterday at Sapidar Palace.
In the meeting, joint directors of the working committees delivered activities and working groups of the committees.
Working group of judicial affairs reported that they have followed decisions of the previous meetings which were about specification of the position of forensic medicine and suggestion for providing necessary materials to the forensic medicine to donors.
Meanwhile, incomes working group informed of holding 14 working meetings in which they have worked on seven institutions.
In the meeting, representative of the ministry of mines informed of implementation of 116 orders, adding that 50 other orders were under execution.
Afterwards, human resources working committee informed of holding seven meetings about doing some activities and delivered brief report regarding implementation of orders in government institutions.
Afghanistan Integrity Watch also delivered its report about counter corruption commission and briefed related to problems, lack of transparency and independency in Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Services.
Representative of Independent Joint anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) also delivered the committee’s work and activities since it was established years ago to the meeting.
After hearing the reports of the respective committees, chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah by praising the respective committees for their works instructed that a meeting should be held between MoI, MoPH and AGO to finally decide on proposal and suggestions of judicial working committee.
Chief executive said that transparency should be maintained in works and all works of each institution should be followed clearly to prevent bewilderment.
The country’s chief executive also instructed that incomes-related working committee should hold a working meeting with ministry of mines and share a complete report regarding implementation of the orders.
