KABUL: The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday confirmed at least seven people were wounded in an explosion that rocked Kabul late Tuesday night.
The explosion happened at around 21:50 in PD15 in Charahi Shahid on the Airport Road.
Sources said a car bomb was used in the attack that targeted a convoy of National Directorate of Security (NDS) vehicles that were returning to a compound to refuel.
The explosion, which was felt across the city, also caused substantial damage to nearby houses and businesses. Vehicles in the area were also damaged in the blast.
Eyewitnesses said many street vendors were also wounded in the explosion. So far no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
