SCC condoles death of Rasul Bawary

KABUL: SAARC Cultural Center (SCC) based in Colombo has condoled death of Rasul Bawary, Afghan archeologist, lecturer and author, who passed away due to COVID-19 in Kabul.
“It is with our deepest sympathies about the sudden bereavement of Professor Mohommad Rasul Bawary, Professor of Archaeology and the former Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism in Afghanistan. He has been an instrumental in restoring and promoting cultures in the region, especially the Research on Culture,” the statement from the center said.
“As a Professor in Archaeology he has been contributing and providing guidance towards the enhancement of cultural aspects of the nation. The best example is his immense contribution and dedication towards promoting the Research Seminar on Islamic Cultural Trails and his fullest participation throughout as a valued participant,” the statement further added.
The SCC went on saying that late Bawary was not only an active member of the big event, but also being an administrator, facilitated with all his strength, all the foreign delegates to arrive at Kabul and visit many interesting sites to obtain firsthand experience on cultural elements of Afghanistan.
“The memory goes back to the closing ceremony of the Research Seminar on Islamic Cultural Trail where he made the momentum speech being the Chief Guest to the event. His inspiration towards upbringing the cultures of the region were so mammoth that he stood as a pillar towards strengthening its serene aspects to the generations ahead,” the statement added.
“Due to his dedicated enthusiasm towards the culture and its everlasting values, he provided his fullest support to conduct many a programs coordinated by the SAARC Cultural Center throughout his tenure as the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism,” the statement further said.
“We, the SCC, miss him a lot and our dearly memories on Professor Bawary will remain forever!!
When reasons fail, we pray for peace and happiness for all the members of the family of Professor Bawary, and the member state of Afghanistan. We will be praying with you!!
May he enjoy the peace and Happiness in Heaven!!.”
Late Bawary who passed away last week in Kabul was buried in Kandahar university compound.
