Road crash kills 4, injures 10 in Balkh province

MAZAR-E-SHARIF: At least four commuters have been killed and ten others sustained injuries in a road accident in northern Balkh province, the provincial police office confirmed in a statement Sunday.
The accident took place on a road Between Shulgara district and Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh, late on Saturday, when two head-on corolla cars collided with each other, leaving four passengers, including women and children, dead and ten others wounded, the statement said. The statement blamed the drivers for recklessness and the poorly built roads for the deadly accident, in the mountainous country. On Tuesday, last week, four commuters were killed and eight others wounded in a similar incident in the country’s western Badghis province.
According to another report, at least ten people were seriously wounded, in a traffic accident early morning in the country’s northern Baghlan province.
Qari Nasir Abedi, the provincial traffic director said the incident happened early Sunday morning, when two corolla-type cars collided with each other, leaving ten people including women and children dead.
The wounded, some in critical condition have been taken to the provincial hospital, according to the source.
Four people have also been killed and three others wounded in the country’s Zabul province. The Kabul Times
