Reinforcements dispatched to Jaghori & Malistan, MoD

KABUL: Afghan National Army chief of staff Mohammad Sharif Yaftali has informed that ANA commandos and NDS special units have been dispatched to Ghazni’s Jaghori and Malistan districts.
Speaking to journalists in a news conference held yesterday, the ANA army chief of staff said: “Two unites of ANA commandos and NDS special forces were dispatched to Jaghori and Malistan districts of Ghazni province this morning to support the local security forces and suppress insurgents,” said Mohammad Sharif Yaftali, the army chief of staff.
He praised cooperation and coordination among the people of the two districts and security forces, assuring that the insurgents would be soon suppressed.
Considering the current war in the two districts in Ghazni as imposed war, Gen. Yaftali stressed on support and trust of the local people on ANDSF.
According to Gen. Yaftali, the Taliban attack on the districts has been repulsed and the group has sustained heavy casualties.
Yaftali also informed that a delegation from presidential office and officials of various organs were in the respective districts of Ghazni.
Informing of a big military ground operation against the Taliban group in Ghazni in particular areas where insecurities have increased recently, Gen. Yaftali said all preparations have been taken for the operation that would supported by NATO’s RS forces in the country.
