KABUL: The head of Afghanistan Independent Election Commission (IEC) says that they have full preparations to hold the presidential elections which is due to be held on Saturday, 28 September 2019.
“Electoral materials have been transferred to all provinces with the cooperation of the security forces,” said Hawa Alam Nuristani, the head of the IEC on Wednesday during a press conference, assuring the people that preparations are in full swing.
Meanwhile, Nuristani called on the people to go the polling stations and assures that the election will be held transparent manner. “Coordination existed among IEC and the security organs and we have firm plans to provide a safe and sound environment for the voters.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) says that the security forces are ready to provide the security on election days.
“The country’s armed forces will provide the security of polling stations, electoral offices and lodges,” the Ministry’s deputy on security affairs Khushal sadaat said.
Sadaat encouraged all the citizens to participate in Saturday elections, as Afghan forces will spare no efforts to provide security for the voting centers.
