KABUL: A meeting chaired by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, reviewed the security situation in the western and southwestern provinces, a statement said yesterday.
The meeting which was held via videoconference, was also attended by Dr. Hamdullah Mohib, National Security Advisor, police commanders and security chiefs of the western and southwestern provinces.
First, the security officials of the western and southwestern provinces of the country presented their report on the security situation in the mentioned provinces, the presidential press office statement added.
President Ghani thanked the security and defense forces for their efforts, for greater coordination between the security and defense forces stationed in the provinces and emphasized on further coordination for highways’ security and more work with the people.
The President also said that with the guidance of the Ministry of Public Health, they should pay serious attention to the fight against the coronavirus.
