KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held a farewell meeting with Vinay Kumar, the outgoing Ambassador of India to Kabul on Monday at the Presidential Palace, a statement said.
Ambassador Kumar expressed gratitude to President Ghani and Afghan government for their efforts in further deepening Afghanistan-India relations and elucidated India’s endeavors to support a thriving Afghanistan with a government grounded on democratic principles and values, the presidential press office statement added.
President Ghani extended gratitude to Ambassador Vinay Kumar for successful accomplishment of his mission in Afghanistan and his immense efforts to expand and consolidate mutual ties between Afghanistan and India, the statement added.
He added that India’s assistance to Afghanistan in each and every area is a demonstration of the cordial and deep-rooted ties between the two countries, according to the statement
The president also praised India’s principled position with regard to Afghanistan’s elections and values of the Republic, stressing that both countries made immense efforts to ensure stability in Afghanistan, economic cooperation and regional connectivity, the statement said.
