KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met yesterday with Turkish minister of national defense Hulusi Akar at Gul Khana palace in Kabul.
In the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral security and economic relations, counter terrorism, the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process, cultural relations and expansion of bilateral relations.
The country’s President praised Turkey for cooperation in the field of security, economic, higher education and training Afghan national police in particular women police.
Afterwards, Turkish minister of national defense praised Afghan defense and security forces’ sacrifices in counter terrorism, assuring his country’s continued cooperation with Afghanistan in maintaining peace and stability as well as training Afghan national police.
According to another report, first vice president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum also met yesterday with the Turkish minister of national defense Hulusi Akar.
In the meeting, both sides discussed current situation, preparations for holding presidential elections, peace process and security situation of the country.
