KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met Thursday evening with members of national assembly and members of their families at Presidential Palace.
In the meeting attended also by the country’s First Lady, Second Vice President, National Security Advisor, Senate Speaker and administrative panel of both houses of national assembly, at first, state minister for parliamentary affairs Gul Badshah Majidi spoke and said role of national assembly is key in consolidation of the republic system.
He added that representatives of people in parliament have always raised their voices in support of democracy, freedom and protection of rights of citizens in accordance to the country’s constitution, saying that they have been standing beside the government and made effort towards consolidation of the system in the past two decades and their position in peace process is appreciable.
Afterwards, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani while welcoming representatives of both houses of national assembly to Presidential Palace said the beauty of the republic system was that each individual gets the opportunity to serve the country.
“Peace is coming, but keep patience so that we reach a dignified and lasting peace in the country,” President Ghani insisted.
Pointing to his recent visit to Qatar, President Ghani said that his visit to Doha was positive enough.
