KABUL: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke to the provincial governors and police chiefs via virtual conference, the Presidential Palace said Tuesday.
In the video conference, President Ghani spoke in detail about his recent visit to the United States at the head of a high-level government delegation and its achievements, and appreciated the heroism and courage of the security and defense forces in repelling enemy plots and providing security for the people, said the palace in a statement. Condemning the Taliban for committing crimes against human rights, the President said the Afghan government, as a member of the international community, believes in all human rights rules of war, according to the statement.
President Ghani noted that the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, as the responsible and elected government, was committed to all human rights principles and rules, and instructed civilian and military officials to ensure that human rights law is observed in all matters the statement quoted.
