KABUL: Following the consultative meetings with the country’s political and jihadi leaders, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired another meeting to discuss key national issues, a statement said. The members of the meeting stressed that the peace process is a priority of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and all subsequent steps in this process will be taken with the necessary understanding and consensus, the presidential palace statement added. It was also emphasized in the meeting that a united line and a strong political consensus to strengthen peace and stability, strengthening the republican system and supporting the national security and defense forces are necessary, the statement added. The meeting also discussed the importance of the forthcoming visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and his accompanying delegation to the United States of America. At the end, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan considered holding of such meetings important in order to strengthen the single line as well as the political consensus in the country.
