KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani who is also the supreme commander of the armed forces chaired a security meeting during his visit from southern Kandahar province here yesterday morning, a presidential statement said.
Briefing the president on security situation in the southern provinces, the security officials said coordination has improved among the forces and operations were underway to suppress enemies, the statement added.
Praising the security forces efforts and operations, the President said Kandahar residents ask security and instructed the officials to do more for stability of the city.
The president also emphasized on key role of the air forces and said the forces number would be increased.
He also asked security officials to prevent civilian casualties in their operations, the statement added.
