President Ghani bids farewell to outgoing UK Ambassador

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with outgoing UK Ambassador Alison Blake here at the presidential palace yesterday.
Ambassador Blake said she was privileged to work with the President of Afghanistan and lead UK’s diplomatic mission in the country. She referred to the new chapter of cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community and expressed her country’s support for Afghanistan.
Praising President Ghani’s efforts for national, regional, and international consensus for Afghan peace process, ambassador Blake said that UK was supporting an independent, united, neutral, democratic, and peaceful Afghanistan.
In his turn, the president thanked UK’s support for Afghanistan and Ambassador Blake’s efforts for enhancing the bilateral ties, calling UK’s principled stance important for shaping the new narrative and the peace discourse.
