KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived in southeastern province of Paktika on Saturday morning and assessed the overall security situation, the Presidential Palace said in a statement. Accompanied by a number of government high-ranking officials, including First Vice-President Amrullah Saleh, the president listened reports and suggestions of the provincial officials and their assurance about the overcoming of insurgency in the province, the statement said. The president spoke about the importance of the reports shared by the security officials of the province and said: “Your accurate and precise report and suggestions about the security situation of the province was very important because the future plan would be made based on these exact reports.”
About the strengthening of security of the people, opening of Zurmat district highway and construction of security bases, the president instructed the related organs and said in order to bring positive change in the situation, there was a need for a clear security commitment. “Paktika people stay on their promising and commitments and the definition of the people capacity is only ensuring security in the province,” said the president as quoted by the statement.
The president also said the people social values should be respected and a clear arrangement should be made for police in order to further strengthen them and raise their capacity.
Meanwhile, First Vice-President Amrullah Saleh commended the sacrifices of the cadres in the security and defense forces ranks in the province and said recruitments among the youths would be paid more attention for the security and defense forces of the country.
