KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Sunday evening received credentials from newly appointed Australian, Qatari and Kyrgyz ambassadors to Afghanistan, a statement from the presidential press office said yesterday.
President Ghani accepted credentials of the new ambassadors of Australia, Geoff Tooth, Qatari Ambassador Saeed Mubarak Al Khayarin Al Jajri and the Kyrgyzstan envoy during separate meetings at the Presidential Palace, the statement said.
According to the statement, the president congratulated the new ambassadors and urged further extension in relations between Afghanistan, Australia, Qatar and Kyrgyzstan. The president called the said countries as Afghanistan’s good cooperators. The meetings also discussed peace, economy, stability, education and training, elections, terrorism and corruption.
The new ambassadors reaffirmed their countries’ support with the war-hit country in various sectors, the statement added.
