Kabul (BNA) Kandahar gardeners have collected 150,000 tons of pomegranate.
According to BNA report, Syeed Hafizullah Syeedi head of agriculture, irrigation and livestock Dept. of Kandahar province said, 150,000 tons of pomegranate has been collected from pomegranate gardens of that province this year.
Meanwhile, Kandahar pomegranate outputs last year was 125,000 metric tons, and this year 25,000 tons of pomegranate gardens have grown in Kandahar.
According to him, 26, 564 tons of Kandahar pomegranate have been exported to Pakistan, India and United Arab Emirate.
Following the effort of the Ministry of Agriculture and Kandahar people over the past few year, over eight thousand hectares of land have been built of pomegranate garden in the province.
Most of the districts in the country produce the most pomegranate in Kandahar.
Now more than 10,000 gardeners in that province are busy increasing pomegranate gardens.
