KABUL: A large number of cultural and literary figures of Afghanistan participated in a meeting held on Sunday evening in the capital Kabul. The country’s well known and famous poets were also present in the meeting, according to a state-owned news agency.
Zabihullah Mujahid Spokesman and Deputy Minister of Information and Culture came live
in an interview the following day.
The deputy minister said that poets and literary men, with their influential and revolutionary pens are an indispensable part of our country.
Humming a stanza from the poem of an Afghan poet Samiullah Taroon, the minister said that the poems can ignite the fire of love and passion for the country in young generation.
“There are several great poets in the country, such as Pir Mohammad Karwan, Samiullah Taroon, and so on who can write beautiful poems,” he said adding that the Ministry of Information and Culture tries to provide better service in the cultural and literary sectors of the country in the future.
As for myself, I am good at prosaic writing, however, I cannot write poems, the spokesman added.
