According to article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. Yet, after years from the respective declaration, people are still investigated and arrested due to their thoughts and expressions.
Pen Day should not be put in calendars and celebrated only as an occasion. It is a day on which writers and penmen should raise a voice for their principal rights which is freedom of expression.
If the Pen Day is considered as a particular day for celebration, it requires the support of people.
