KABUL: Head of the Presidential Public Relations and Strategic Office and Senior Advisor, Wahid Omar has said that the negotiating team represents the entire people of the country, a statement from his office said Sunday. He said enough consultation had been made for the appointment of the peace negotiating team members, the list of which had been released two days ago, according to the statement. “In order to have a delegation could remain effective and acceptable by all people of different stratum in the country, a complete political consensus exists alongside republican,” said Omar as quoted in the statement. He said the delegation composition was made of representatives from the coun- try’s religious scholars, civil activists, women, political figures and the government and totally the delegation can rep- resent a powerful and united Afghanistan in the peace negotiation. Omar also asked the Taliban for not pretexting on the issue, as the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has never opined about how the Taliban peace team composing should be. He also asked the Taliban to appoint their peace team for direct negotiation with the government.
