KABUL: A peace negotiation was held between Pakistan officials and the Taliban Movement of Pakistan (TTP) here in the country’s capital Kabul, the IEA spokesman confirmed the other day.
“Talks were held in Kabul between the government of Pakistan and the Taliban Movement of Pakistan with the mediation of the Islamic Emirate,” said spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Zabihullah Mujahid on his official twitter account.
In addition to making significant progress on related issues during the talks, a temporary ceasefire was also agreed upon, Mujahid said.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strives for the goodwill of the negotiating process and wishes both sides tolerance and flexibility,” Mujahid twitted
Heavy clashes have reportedly erupted between the Pakistan security forces and the Taliban Movement of Pakistan (TTP) killing and injuring numerous armed men from both sides, over the last long years.
In a recent move, the Pakistan warplane bombed some parts of the two countries borders inside Afghanistan’s Khost and Kunar provinces, with the aim of targeting anti-Pakistan government militants. But the victims were mostly civilians, including women and children. The Kabul Times
