KABUL: At the sideline of the Geneva conference on Afghanistan, Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock in his residence in Geneva city, BNA reported on Tuesday.
Assuring UN and his administration’s presence and continued cooperation with Afghanistan, Lowcock said in cooperation and coordination with the government of Afghanistan we would continue cooperation to address drought and its impacts, according to the BNA.
Thanking OCHA office’s presence and assistances to Afghanistan and its efforts to address drought and its impact, CE Abdullah assured of the Afghan government’s cooperation with OCHA and asked for further assistances of that entity with affected people.
Both sides also asked for increasing efforts to basic aids to people.
Two sides also discussed and exchanged views on Geneva conference success on Afghanistan and international community’s continued presence in this country.
