KABUL: National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib arrived in northern Faryab province yesterday to review the security situation in the province, a statement said,
Governor and security officials in Faryab province told the National Security Adviser and his accompanying delegation that coordination between the security and defense forces in the province has improved over the past and that the central government’s serious attention to security of province has resulted to positive changes in the province, the statement from National Security Council Press Office said.
The provincial security officials said that there were security problems in the districts of Almar, Qaysar and Khawajah SabzPoosh that will soon be resolved with their plans. According to them, the plan would also aim to improve the security of highway, which will soon be implemented in coordination with local people.
NSA Mohib praised the coordination between civil and military organs in the province, adding such cooperation has resulted to improving security situation in Faryab, but stressed on further coordination among them, according to the statement.
Considering the important role of scholars and tribal elders, NSA Moheb said that their views and consultations should be taken into account in securing and improving local governance in the province.
The National Security Adviser thanked the Provincial Council for its efforts to attract people’s cooperation with the security and civil agencies and urged them to further improve their cooperation, the statement added.
