KABUL: National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib in a meeting with the Iranian special Representative for Afghanistan, Mohammad Ibrahim Tahereyan, discussed peace process and mutual cooperation on Sunday, his office said in a statement.
Both sides also exchanged views on the importance and creation of regional consensus to help peace process get success and restore lasting peace in the country, according to the statement.
During the meeting, the Iranian Special Representative for Afghanistan said his country supports Afghanistan and commend the efforts of the Afghan government in this area.
He also assured of his country’s inclusive cooperation with the government of Iran in fighting coronavirus, the statement quoted.
The country’s national security advisor, meanwhile expressed gratefulness for the Iranian government cooperation and stated that in order to reach peace, there was a need for regional consensus and reaffirmed that the future peace is lasting and reach the goal, there was a regional agreement.
During the sides also discussed improvement in trade and transit between Afghanistan and Iran, joint railway between the two countries and other related issues, according to the statement.
