KABUL: The meeting of the National Procurement Commission (NPC), chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, was held Saturday evening at the presidential palace and discussed 43 procurement projects, including infrastructure, health and food projects, a statement from the presidential palace said yesterday.
The projects also included the construction of the remaining sections of the Kunar-Nuristan road, the construction of a road in Jani-Khel district of Paktia province, the provision of medical equipment for the 600-bed Mirwais Nika Hospital in Kandahar province, the supply of medicines and oxygen production machines for central hospitals, according to the statement.
The meeting also discussed and approved the 220 KW transmission line project from Shindand to Farah, the 220 KW transmission line construction project from Hashemi Bridge to Shindand , and the 125 MW substation construction project in Herat province. This comes as Afghanistan is hit by 3rd wave of COVID-19 with government announced preventive measures, including two-weeks leave for civil servant employees above 55 age and with serious illnesses.
