KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the meeting of the National Procurement Commission was held Monday evening at presidential palace.
In the meeting, 46 procurement contracts were reviewed and as a result, 44 contracts worth nearly 10 billion Afghani were approved by the commission.
Meanwhile; the request for award of the contract to print two types of confidential stationaries, of property directorate of Ministry of Education; conditioned to make contract around estimated price with printing enterprise. However; the contract for construction of Sarai Shamali bridge; related to Kabul Municipality; for further review on design, cost, capacity and capability of the proposed bidder; was returned by NPC.
Moreover; after reviewing, the commission approved the request for modification of a number of contracts.
The ministry of urban development and land requested for guidance of NPC on award of the contract for construction of 1400 apartments located at the first phase of Darulaman in Kabul; which after review and discussion; it was approved to the bidder who offered the lower price. Furthermore; the respective ministry requested for guidance on contract for design of Afghan National Museum building; which was approved by NPC.
MoD requested for correction on the quantity of chicken meat; required by 207 Zafar Corp; which was also approved by NPC. MoI requested for guidance on procurement of fuel (Wood); which was approved by NPC and respected Ministry instructed to consider a substitute instead of wood for fuel. Subsequently; MoI submitted a request on two types of fuel; required by General Directorate of Afghan Public Protection Force (APPF) and Enterprise Security; which after review and discussion; NPC provided the necessary guidance in this respect. The MoPH request on terminating of the contract for construction of a 50-bed hospital in the center of Nuristan province was also approved by NPC and respected Ministry assigned to refer the offender contractor to judicial authorities for legal prosecution.
Based on the agenda; the NPC members reviewed the implementation report of previous NPC instructive decisions; which resulted in approval of some projects.
