KABUL: The National Procurement Commission with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair held its 191st session here on Sunday evening and discussed 18 contracts and approved 17 procurement related contracts worth 2.35 billion Afghanis, a statement from National Procurement Authority (NPA) said yesterday.
While discussing a contract related to Ministry of Interior for procurement of bread, the president emphasized on accuracy in estimation rates, instructing the Afghanistan Integrity Watch, Ministries of Finance, Commerce and Industries, Economy and NPA to prepare a resolution for standardization of the estimation rates within upcoming two months and report to the session, the statement added.
Meanwhile the session rejected the contract of Kokcha irrigation and Archi Canal related to Ministry of Energy and Water for further evaluation, the statement said.
According to the statement, the session approved Ministry of Mines and Petroleum’s report on status of contracts for exploitation of Marble stones of Kabul, Maidan-Wardak and Nangarhar.
The session also discussed and approved the necessary budget for construction of surrounding wall of the Afghan embassy in Washington DC related to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Construction of Minting Printing Press building and contract for maintenance of generators related to Ministry of National Defense were among other procurement issues which were discussed and approved by the commission.
The session also tasked the Ministry of Finance to coordinate with De Afghanitan Breshna Sherkat and connect MoD’s bases to national electricity program.
