KABUL: The National Procurement Commission (NPC has approved a total of 16 contracts worth more than 835 million afghanis, a statement from the Presidential Palace said Tuesday.
The country’s President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani presided over the NPC meeting in his office on Tuesday evening, discussing 18 contracts out of which 16 contracts worth over 855 million afghanis have been approved, the statement said.
Construction of 10 kilometer road between Gulran and Rubat-e-Sangi districts of western Herat province, presented by the ministry of transport, has been among the 16 contracts discussed and approved in the meeting, the statement added.
A contract for constructing of a road of Murgh Giran village in Kabul province and another contract for the modification and extension of the contract of consultative services of road from Sharana to Angor Ada of the ministry of Transport and some other have also been approved by the commission, the statement added.
The meeting ordered assessment of the Ministry of Finance and National Procurement Commission on the remaining 40 kilometers road construction between Gardan Diwal and Chaghcharan and report to the next NPC meeting, according to the statement.
The meeting returned two procurement projects, including construction of the remaining second part of the road from Jaghori to Qarabagh districts of Ghazni province, relating to the Ministry of Transport for more assessment, the statement said.
