NPC approves 15 projects worth over 3 billion Afghanis

KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, a meeting of the National Procurements Commission (NPC), approved 15 projects costing more than 3 billion Afghanis, the Presidential Press Office said Monday.
Held at the Charchenar Palace, the meeting discussed up to 22 procurement issues among them 15 contracts at the cost of up to 3 billion Afghanis, said the statement.
The approved projects included road asphalting between Maidanshar and Bamyan provinces with the length of 70 kilometers related to the ministry of public works, contracts on rebuilding and graveling of a road with the length of 10 kilometers, in Khost province, which is also related to the ministry of public works, internet facilities of the deputy revenues ministry of finance and many others, according to the statement.
Some other projects, including Kabul Metro-Bus network’s design related to the Kabul Municipality, road rebuilding project from Zarmat to Gardiz of Pakitia Province and few others have been resolved to be returned for more discussion and investigation, the statement added.
Three contract termination contracts with the offer of the ministry of reconstruction and rural rehabilitation in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province, including building of road with the length of up to 9 kilometers and two other road building projects, have also been approved by the meeting of the procurements commission.
The NPC meeting has also rejected some offers including transformation of Afghanis to U.S. dollar under the Kam Air and Ariana Afghan Airline to the round trip of up to 10,000 Haj pilgrims leaving for Haj in the Saudi Arabia for the year 2019, said the statement.
