No anti-IEA armed militants would be supported, envoy assures

KABUL: Acting Minister of Interior Khalifa Sarajuddin Haqqani met yesterday with the EU special envoy for Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson here in Kabul, the ministry’s press office said the other day.
In the meeting, security situation and transferring of Afghan passports printed abroad were discussed, with the EU envoy assuring cooperation for transferring the printed passports booklets to the country, the ministry said in a statement.
He said security in Afghanistan was important for the regional and world stability, and that no armed militants would be supported against the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, the statement said.
Meantime, acting Minister of Interior said that under the Doha agreement, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) remained committed to never allow anybody pose threat to any other countries, the statement quoted.
“The door of talks is always open the oppositions and the world was also asked not to support any armed groups in the country,” the acting minister said as quoted by the statement.
He also said the Islamic Emirate wanted to have good relations with its neighbors and the whole world nations.
