KABUL: Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danesh met with a number of elders, influential figures, youth and people’s representatives of Pato district of Daikundi province here yesterday.
The residents of newly established Pato district briefed the second Vice President on their problems, saying they have played active role in security and education sectors with the local organs in the province, the statement from the second VP office told The Kabul Times.
Hinting to challenges before merging of some villages of the Pato district with Gezab district, the elders asked government to listen to their demands. They said the villagers were living in a friendly and brotherhood atmosphere and there were no problems among them, the statement added.
Thanking people’s views and demands, the second VP said government was not willing to bring about administrative changes in the district without consultations with the local residents. Hinting to friendly and brotherhood relation among the residents of Pato district, VP Danesh said such behavior should be a pattern to national unity in the country. Pledging to address the demands of Pato district elders within the framework of law, VP Danesh said no administrative changes to take place without their consultations, the statement added.
