KABUL: Afghanistan recorded 56 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s overall tally to 38,772, the Ministry of Public Health said on Monday.
In a statement, the ministry said 365 suspected people underwent tests, with 56 being diagnosed with the infection during the period.
At least 30 new cases surfaced in Herat, 11 in Badghis, seven in Balkh, two each in Kabul, Kandahar and Daikundi and one each in Kunduz and Maidan Wardak. Five people died from the disease during the past 24 hours that saw 435people recover from the pandemic. So far, 32,073 people have recovered and 1,425 died from the novel coronavirus in the country.
