KABUL: Newly-appointed heads for cultural sections of UNESCO have been introduced to acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi.
In a meeting held yesterday on this occasion, former director of UNESCO’s cultural sections introduced newly-appointed chiefs of the respective sections to acting minister of information and culture and assured of the organization’s continued cooperation with the ministry of information and cultural in the field of culture.
Besides praising the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for its cooperation with MoIC in cultural sector, acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi briefed related to works and efforts being made by the MoIC towards protection of Minaret of Jam, saying that coordination has been made with the MoD, MoI, NDS, the office of the National Security Council and relevant institutions in connection with clearing the river flowing beside the respective minaret.
In the meeting, they also discussed archaeologic park in Bamyan, 4-month working report of Mes-e-Ainak historic site and holding training workshops in connection with hidden cultural heritages in various provinces of the country.
Hasina Safi stressed that the MoIC was making continued effort for protection of Minaret of Jam.
