KABUL: The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) has held a meeting to provide the ministry’s staff and personnel with awareness about the outbreak of the fatal coronavirus, Bakhtar News Agency reported Tuesday.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture on Administrative, Finance and Tourism affairs, Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi said: “Time has reached to have full awareness about the coronavirus and how the disease spread and affect the people.”
She asked the whole staffs and personnel of the ministry of information and culture to observe the directions and recommendations of the physicians about the outbreak of the disease.
Doctor Wahidullah Momand, head of Kabul Medical Sciences University spoke about the efforts of the university to introduce the coronavirus and how to prevent it, the agency quoted.
He said: “We shouldn’t exaggerate the virus to harm the morale of the citizens and underestimate it as much as to get infected.”
According to him, overaged people could get infected with the virus easily, as their body can’t resist against the disease.
Coronavirus is one of many viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds.
In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that are typically mild, such as the common cold, another doctor attended the meeting described.
There are no vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections.
