MoIC assures citizens’ access to information


KABUL: During a meeting chaired by Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi and attended by the ministry’s deputy on publication affairs Sayed Aqa Fazel Sancharaki, policy deputy Abdul Subhan Rauf, head of the commission for access to information Aynuddin Bahaduri and a number of the commission’s members, decisions made to submit the ministry’s commitment on evaluation, capacity building and establishing delivering information offices in govt. administrations to the commission of access to information, BNA reported yesterday.
Based on the commitment, the ministry of information and culture in cooperation with the commission of access to information and open governance partnership secretariat succeeded to review the delivering information units’ function in 60 government administrations. Besides, the ministry has planned to prepare educational packages and pave the way for establishing delivering information offices in four government offices this year.
After selection of new members for the commission of access to information, the commitment will be officially delivered to the mentioned commission.
Acting Minister Safi said that in consider with the general session’s suggestion and declaring preparation by the commission of access to information, her led ministry has agreed in this regard and assured to remain by the commission to support citizens’ access to information.
