Minister Zuhair wishes flourishing culture, lasting peace in 1,400 new year

KABUL: Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) held a great festival to mark the new 1,400 Solar Year in Kabul’s Chehlstoon palace.

In the program attended by deputy ministers, advisors and directors of information and culture, civil society activists and cultural figures, acting minister of information and culture Mohammad Tahir Zuhair once again congratulated the advent of new 1,400 Solar Year to participants and all Afghans, wishing flourishing culture and lasting peace in the country.

Briefing related to programs of the MoIC held on the occasion of Nowruz Festival, acting minister of information and culture said the ministry had planned to hold 100 cultural programs including seminars, exhibitions and all other cultural programs in the ongoing year.

“Based on instruction of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the new 1,400 year’s Nawroz was celebrated in Presidential Palace and all other provinces of the country,” minister Zuhair said, hoping the new 1,400 year to be the year of flourishing culture and start of permanent and lasting peace in the country.

The minister asserted that governments were planning to hold programs for the happiness of their people as according to him being happy and happiness could relieve the people from tiredness and motivate them to progress and bringing development.

Acting minister of information and culture praised the Nowruz Festival Convening Commission, ministries and institutions for their cooperation with the MoIC in celebrating the spring Festival in the country.

Meanwhile, deputy minister of information and culture for publication affairs Abdul Manan Shiway Sharq hoped the new year would bring cultural development, lasting peace and security in the country.

Afterwards, deputy of Kabul Municipality Mohammad Fazil Sharifi in his speech said that on the occasion of Nowruz Festival of 1,400, the Kabul municipality has planted different saplings for the greenery and beauty of the capital city.  He said that during the current new year, Kabul resident would witness operation of city buses to be launched with the initiative of Kabul Municipality.

The acting minister of information and culture accompanied by the ministry’s deputies and directors opened photo exhibition of Bakhtar New Agency, handicraft exhibitions and inspected athletic shows in Chahlstoon Garden.
