KABUL: Acting and nominee minister of information and culture Mohammad Tahir Zuhair reviewed activities of the deputy ministry of publication during a meeting held on Thursday at the ministry, BNA reported.
During the meeting was attended by deputy minister of publications Abdul Manan Shiway Sharq, directors of Media Monitoring, Bakhtar News Agency, Government Dailies as well as Editor-in-Chiefs of The Kabul Times, Anis, Islah and Hewad dailies, the agency added.
The officials shared their problems with the Minister in the areas of lack of professional staffs, funding, lack of proper office space and work equipment.
They also asked for the support and attention of the high-ranking government officials to the state media, as well as presented their plans, ideas and suggestions for improving the situation of the government dailies and new agency.
The acting minister of information and culture praised the work of the Ministry’s publication department and called state media as the reputable ones in all countries. He also promised to work together to overcome the existing problems, the agency quoted.
