KABUL: Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi met Turkish Ambassador to Kabul here in her office yesterday and both sides discussed enhanced bilateral cultural relations, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
According to the agency, the Turkish ambassador reminded of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached between the ministries of information and culture of Afghanistan and Turkey in 1959, and asked for the implementation of the aforesaid MoU.
Assuring his country’s continued cooperation and friendly relations with Afghanistan, the ambassador said enough cultural exchange opportunities were existed and needed to be utilized for strengthening of the cultural ties between the two countries, the agency added.
Praising Turkish support, in particular in cultural affairs to Afghanistan, Minister Safi emphasized on enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.
Acting minister of information and culture called holding of joint cultural programs and exhibitions a bold step towards strengthening of the cultural relations between the two countries.
