KABUL: The Supreme Commander of Armed Forces meeting with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair was held here yesterday where the officials of security organs assured public security, according to a presidential palace statement.
During the meeting, the current security situation was analyzed, and the officials of the security and defense institutions briefed the president about ensuring the security of the people.
After hearing the reports of the security and defense sector officials, the president, as quoted in the statement, issued the necessary instructions to ensure the best possible security for the people.
This comes as addressing an event marking ‘Good Governance and Human Resources Week’ here at the presidential palace on Tuesday, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said Taliban have inflected one billion dollars in infrastructures’ damage in the country.
“Let’s not forget that Taliban’s activities have caused $ 1 billion damage to Afghanistan’s infrastructure. I tell them why do you destroy? If you cannot build and do not have a positive plan, at least avoid destruction,” the president said.
In an interview with CNN late on Sunday, the president had also said that no religious justification left for war in the country, pointing to foreign troops withdrawal and Taliban’s bloodshed campaign.
