KABUL: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan chaired a meeting discussing the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) projects, a statement from the Presidential Palace said Sunday.
At the meeting attended by the US ambassador to Kabul, the related officials spoke about the USAID future projects including democracy, governance, fighting corruption, health, education, in particular providing support to women and girls in Afghanistan, the statement added.
The official pledged to do more for peace, considering the ongoing situation and that the people of Afghanistan have the possession of the process and that they could provide cooperation and support to them in the field of humanitarian aids and offering fundamental cooperation, according to the statement.
Thanking the officials for their activities, the country’s president said their focus was on the water management, and expansion of agriculture as well as processing and exports, the statement quoted. Considering the Citizen’s Charter National Priority Program (CCNPP), the president said: “We would focus on the Afghan products and your cooperation should be result-oriented in the field of basic services.”
“Service providing should be prioritized and we would focus on three parts of the society; which are women, youth and poverty,” the president added.
On the peace process, the president said he has reached a needed consensus and his consultation would continue with the people of different strata of society .
