KABUL: The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, has reviewed the security situation of Ghor, Badghis, Farah, Herat and Helmand provinces during a meeting with the commanders of the 215 Maiwand and 207 Zafar corps, a statement from the presidential press office said yesterday.
During the video conference, which was also attended by Dr. Hamdullah Mohib, National Security Advisor, the President assessed the security situation in the mentioned provinces and asked local officials to pay special attention to the security of provinces, in particular that of Helmand province, paying special attention to the security of Helmand province, the statement added.
The President stressed the need for greater coordination between the security and defense forces, attention to the security of Ghor and Badghis provinces, public work in Farah province and meeting the needs of the 215 Maiwand and 207 Zafar Corps.
President Ghani also said that quarantine should be observed with the guidance of the Ministry of Public Health and that serious attention should be paid to the fight against the coronavirus.
