KABUL: Mohammad Rasul Bawary, the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture on Cultural Affairs, on Sunday, lauded the high position of mother and said marking the day was ‘an integral part of our culture.’
Congratulating the day for the mothers during his address in a meeting, held on the advent of mother world day, the deputy minister called mothers the symbol of courage, resistance and devotion and that the high position of mothers would not be restricted to this day, but would be admired and respected forever.
Meanwhile the country’s First Lady in a video message congratulated the day for the entire mothers across the country and said mothers were the victims of first line of war. “These the mothers who are losing their sons and husbands in the imposed wars in the country.”
Likewise, Shakila Nazari, Head of Information and Public Relation of the Ministry of Women Affairs, speaking on the occasion, blamed under-age marriage, wicked traditions and forced marriages among the challenges facing women in Afghanistan.
But she said her ministry had good achievements on low women’s mortality in the country, as according to a report released by the Ministry of Public Health mortality rate has reduced in 2018.
