Kunar youth, civil society activists support President Ghani’s peace initiative

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met the other day with youth and civil society representatives of Kunar in the province.
In the meeting, Nezamuddin Malyar spoke and enumerated youth’s demands and suggestions as attention to youth, families of martyrs, construction of schools, management of the province’s waters and mines, electricity, wood industry, agricultural and livestock, declaring his support from the country’s President’s programs.
Afterwards, President Ghani spoke and said further attention would be paid to expansion and development of Kunar. “Work on management of water has been started and as a result of it more than 5,000 hectare lands would be fairly provided to the people of the province,” the country’s President said.
President Ghani said that he would closely review problems of the families of martyrs and asked for working a mechanism to monitor the process, adding that feeling responsibility in connection with addressing martyrs’ families should be common.
The country’s President asserted that all had considered the ceasefire during the Eid day as impossible and were fearing, but due to better management of the truce, a large number of Taliban entered to cities and villages and clearly said that they were tired of war in the country.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said that lasting and dignified peace was the desire of all Afghans; therefore, they were making effort to reach it.
