Kabul should be turned into “The City of Hope” by water and land management, President Ghani

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with the members of National Water and Environment Research Center held at the Presidential Palace, said that Kabul should be turned into the ‘city of hope’ through management of water and land.
During the meeting, Abdul Tawab Balakarzai, the scientific deputy minister of higher education said that work had been done on the country’s president views about the development of the researches center of water and environment, according to the agency.
He and other officials attending the meeting provided some details about what has been done in this field, with the president saying that Kabul should be turned into what he described a city of hope through water and land management.
The president said a clear cluster should be created between the universities and the ministries and asked them for mixing both theoretical and practical lessons, the agency added.
The president instructed the deputy minister of higher education for establishing several water and environment researches centers in the provinces and that the ministry of finance to provide the required budget, as well as the budget of the provincial centers should be lodged in the next year’s budget. The president also said that the capacity of the Afghan youths outside the country should be used online to reach a single and basic discussion, the agency quoted.
In any project, a special research section should be created to help the students use their researches on the project, according to the agency.
